Fees for services

Differences that influence the price of a project include:

  1. Complexity
More complicated topics entail a higher learning curve and take more time and energy.
  2. Your timeline
Turnaround time varies by project, but a rule of thumb is usually 1-2 weeks for smaller assignments, longer for large projects. As jobs are quoted by the project, a project deadline will be clearly listed on your contract, including intermediate deadlines. We charge extra for rush jobs.
  3. Meetings
A minimum number of meetings are required to make sureboth client and producer stay on the same page, and can quickly respond to the inevitable unforeseen exigencies of production and the real world. The initial face-to-face meeting is usually one hour, and always free. Subsequent meetings are charged. Meetings with ongoing clients are charged, regardless of whether it's for a new or ongoing project.
Local meetings for video creation and consulting are charged per hour; the cost of long-distance meetings include travel, accommodations, expenses, depending on services required.

Factors that may influence the final price of your project:

  • Does documentation for the project already exist or does it need to be written?
  • Does the producer need to be onsite or can the project be captured via a web browser or VPN access?
  • Does the project require captioning or other features?
  • Does the project require interactivity or need to be SCORM-compliant?
  • What is the desired length of the clip(s)?
  • What is the complexity of the project you are trying to capture? (more complex tasks usually require multiple clips.)
  • Delivering your project on BOTH online and CD-ROM will cost extra. There's no price advantage in choosing one over the other
  • Selecting multiple output formats (eg Quicktime, Flash, Windows Media, AVI and Real files) in low, medium, and high bandwidths takes time to produce, and costs extra
  • Graphic work (eg intricate title screens, custom loading screens, extensive clip art, custom MenuMaker background, Flash animations, custom logo wallpapers etc) takes time to produce, and costs extra
  • Background music and sound effects takes time to produce, and costs extra. Additional sound tracks incurs an extra charge. Exceptions to this rule are keyboard and mouseclick sound effects.

Screen video creation

Tutorial videos are broken down into 4-8 minute segments. Breaking these videos into smaller, more palatable portions eases stress on the viewer by not overloading them with information.

Classroom training

For custom classroom training, the day varies greatly, based on the number of attendees, the complexity of the content, and whether a written manual is required.
